Hikinu

Hikinu draws inspiration from Hikinuki, the Kabuki theater technique that transforms the stage. The design combines side posts—available in a lacquered or metal finish—with upholstered semicircular shells, creating a light and distinctive form. The woven SPLOT® surface, made from recycled aluminum, reacts to light and the environment, altering the perception of volume. Available in a freestanding or suspended version, it fits naturally into the space, whether as a single piece or in a composition. Hikinu is an essential object where light, material, and craftsmanship come together.

A series of planters inspired by Hikinuki, the art of Japanese Kabuki theater that transforms the stage with rapid costume changes.

In the Hikinu planters, it is not the shape that changes but the perception: thanks to the combination of materials and the play of reflections, the woven surface reacts to light and the environment, altering the perception of volume and revealing the rich texture of the craftsmanship.

Designed to be used as a standalone piece or as part of a composition, Hikinu brings greenery into a space with a dramatic flourish; the plant is not simply placed there but takes center stage, wrapped in a weave that amplifies its presence and transforms it into an architectural element.
